Title: Problem with Ultra Hal Assistant
Post by: Mumm-Ra on January 01, 2003, 10:22:13 pm
Hello! I'm new here. I' need your help. I downloaded the HalAssistant and tried to run it, but when it started I got an error message and it isn't going away. The message I got was

Coponent MSSCRIPT.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

What should I do?

you need to go to control panel and remove it then restart your PC and then download a fresh copy from this site and then install it and make sure you restart your workstation

MCP x 2 , Network+ , CCNA, C/C++

Yeah, but I had uninstalled it and re-installed it several times, but it has the same problem. Is there any way to get the ocx files and manually add them in?

MSSCRIPT.ocx is the MISROSOFT script control.

You download it from MICROSOFT. You also need MSAGENT installed.

There is README info with links somewhere in the ZABAWARE readout on this.

Would you happen to have a direct link to it?

MSScript.OCX should be installed as part of the Ultra Hal Assistant installation. But you can try downloading this component from Microsoft and installing it. Download and install the Windows Script Control (http://"http://download.microsoft.com/download/winscript56/Install/1.0/W982KMeXP/EN-US/sct10en.exe") and maybe also the Windows Script Components (http://"http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/default.asp?URL=/downloads/sample.asp?url=/msdn-files/027/001/733/msdncompositedoc.xml")
