Title: Crashes My Whole System
Post by: ronbminchow on January 17, 2003, 01:10:22 pm
I am running ultra hal V4.5 on windows xp and it is crashing my whole system.
It does it at different times doing different things so do not know exactly what could be causing it.It has happend trying to open hal, trying to close hal, trying to open general options, and several others. I have tried removing it and reinstalling but the problem is still there as far as I could tell from the system req. they specified I meet all of them and should not be having a problem. when my system reboots it tells me that I am recovering from a seriouis system error.

I'm not sure about your overall problem; however, the recovering from a serious system error is a Windows XP bug that is easily fixed. Just do a search with Good for the phrase "recovering from a serious system error" and you'll find the links to download or correct the problem. It has to do with the virtual memory settings not resetting properly.
