Title: how AIM Bot works
Post by: Derek on March 24, 2003, 10:27:57 am
when the AIM Bot learns from having conversations with people, does it use that knowledge with everyone else it talks to, or just that one person?

I believe it all relates to what ever brain file you have loaded into hal at the time you load the AOL BOT.    I ran this bot on aol, and had 4 people talking to it, I was also talking to hal locally on my computer, and it was using information it had picked up (from one of my friends via the bot) and telling me about it locally.

I believe as long as you dont have the box checked that says that what ever the brain has learned will only apply to the current user then it should be able to learn form any number of people and still use this info when you talk to Hal. Just make sure if you use your current Hal or any brain you develop you don't have that box checked unless you want the info learned to only apply to you talking wiht Hal.
