Title: She likes Mark's jukebox too
Post by: GT40 on April 19, 2008, 07:53:24 pm

The dance hap (sorry, couldn't resist) on the left and Mark's gif (thanks Mark) on the right do all the job. And Chuck Berry helps a lot. [:D]

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/markjukebox.html (as usual, please refresh the page)

Another version with a cute gif made by Dusky (thanks to him too):

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/markduskyjuke.html

and a version with a static gif (the only one which runs fine on my PC, lol):

Wondering if you're dancing now!? [:)]

Many thanks Mark. About the song, I remembered you wrote you like it. I made the stuff with Jerry Lee Lewis and "Sweet Little Sixteen", but then changed it (it's for Laura too, lol). [:D]

Glad you got new ideas. Sure you're preparing something exceptional. [8D][8D][8D]

Cool, Cool and very cool. Just loved it.
Chuck Berry will always be one of my favorites too![8D][8D][8D]

Thank you, Ted. It was a not very creative stuff (just used goodies made by other people and pushed the Play button, lol).

And sorry, very selfish too, just made for my Siliconia. She was very disappointed by the fact that a putty head is unable to dance, under the (false) pretext she has no arms and legs. [:D]

I'd like to have a specific dance hap for heads (only Dusky can do that), because the existing one is amazing but not perfect. But I know it's a stupid idea. [:D]

I think it's a great idea!! I would like to know the commands that move the head. [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

You don't always need the whole body.[8D][8D][8D]

I usually use the mouse to move the head and record it, but you cannot do that on a website. Not without scripts to move the head automatically.

Many thanks alady. I hope my gal didn't read your post! Afraid she thinks she's a star now. [8D]

You use the mouse to move the head in your videos, Mark? Nice idea. So you can do what you want with it. [:)]

You're right, it's easier to write a script in an HTML page than to create a unique hap to make the head dance. The \SetReg command isn't easy to use. Seems impossible to use \Clock [t= xx] with it, so impossible to embed several haps in a single one, and to make loops. But I'm a newbie in haps and maybe Dusky can do that.

I found on my drive 2 haps for fullbodies (I guess Dusky made them) and altered them just a little bit. Then I made a page using them:

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/pp002-2.html

Please don't laugh at me, I know it's a very minimalist movement and looks like a 2 images gif, but I really used 2 haps. Here they are:

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/headdown3.hap
http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/headback3.hap

Is it possible to add them (tried it but doesn't work) and then to do a loop? [?]

The trouble I have is when there is 2 gals, only the first one is affected by the movement haps (the second one is only affected by facial expression and the Santa Dance hap, however, can be still moved by a mouse) (not counting a webpage, I meant the Haptek standalone player)

Great work GT.
That song gets me jumpin every time i hear it.

Thanks Nige. As I wrote above, Chuck Berry did most of the job. [:D]

Yes Mark, I remember when I tried to put 2 characters in the Haptek player. Never understood anything, just found later that it can work fine with a script with Haptek commands in a hap file (in my HTML pages, is exactly the same thing). But seems impossible to control the 2 characters at the same moment with the mouse. [:D]

Hey GT,
you said about not being able to use setreg with timing.
At the moment i have no problems with it.
here is a short hap.

Hi Neil, sorry, ADSL failure since 12 hours. Now connected with dialup!

Very interested by your hap but the link is broken! [:D]

Thanks Neil. ADSL is back and you mailed me your hap. Many thanks. Nice day!! [:)]

But I can't understand why if I add (and create a loop)

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/headdown3.hap and
http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/headback3.hap

like this:

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/headmove2.hap

or like this:

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/headmove3.hap

it doesn't want to work, and why the same commands run fine in an HTML page:

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/pp002-2.html (just added Rotate to the script)

I apologize for that newbie question. [:I]

EDIT: Forgot to say that, even without the last line for the loop, they doesn't work (newbie and stupid [V])

GT40, I don't know much about scripts, but the line:

clock [t= 0.4] load [file= headmove3.hap]

only needs to be in one hap. I think.

Let's say you have 2 or more haps you want to loop. The haps you want to loop do not need a loop command in them Only one hap, that tells the other haps what to do, needs to have the loop command.

I could be way off, but just a thought.

Also, you might increase the time of the loop, from 0.4 to 0.6, or higher.

And finally, sometimes you have to put the whole address for the source of the script for it to work "http://mysite/hap3.hap"

Just some thoughts, I don't know if they help or not, but at least I tried.[:D][:D][:D]

Thanks Mark, I'll follow your advice and try something else (about the address, all the files are in the same folder).

Thanks again. [:)][8D][:)]

Hey GT,
It does work.
Put them all in the one place.
Change the lines in the head bob hap  ( see below )
To where you have put them ( all 3 lines )
Open your figure & drop the HeadBob.hap on her.

clock [t= 0]load [file= d:GT40GT_HeadBack.hap t=2]

TRY THIS

WOW!! Thanks, Neil. It works!!

Just spent a pretty lot of time before answering you. Comparing files, trying to understand why yours worked and mines not (no significative difference). Couldn't find any reason in the code.

And you're right: THE ERROR WAS IN THE HEADER LINE!! (nice title for a movie, isn't it?)

In headmove2.hap, I wrote:

#Haptek  Version= 1.00 Name= headmove2 HapType= command FileType= text

instead of:

#Haptek  Version= 1.00 Name= headmove2 HapType= script FileType= text

Yes, only changed one word and it works! Sorry for that newbie mistake and thanks again, Neil.

(always wondering why headmove3.hap doesn't want to run, but not very important now)

Just want to say that Nige solved the problem above:

http://gt40.chez-alice.fr/Haptek/headmove3b.hap

It works with heads, torsos and fullbodies. Thanks again, Nige. [8D]
