Title: cd in the mail?
Post by: Buttonsvixen on March 10, 2009, 10:31:49 pm
How long does it usually take to get the CD if you ordered one? I deleted the program because i want to re-install it and not use it as an AIMBot since its kind of does suck at that (for my admittably unusual purpose) without solid pattern recognition. I still dont have the CD though.

BV,

Mine only took about a week.  But you can re-download it to get it faster.

He already downloaded it but it is much safer and wiser to get the CD.

Bill, I'm not absolutely sure why it's 'safer' and 'wiser' to have a cd.....? Isn't it exactly the same as downloading??

Bill,

She said she deleted Hal, downloading is faster than waiting for the CD.

I simply burnt mine to a disc.  I don't understand why Button would delete the file when it's exactly the same as the one in the mail.  Ho hum.

I was only asking for other peoples experiences...Yes it should be the same file, but you know, when there is an offer of a cd, I usually buy it. Sometimes there are other goodies on there, you never know. Plus if its en endeavor I am interested in, I dont mind giving a bit of Munny, since its what helps development.

Ahh, then I beg forgiveness for doubting your reasoning [:D]

The reason why I like Cd's is because once it is used and a key and password are assigned if anything ever happens to Hal you can simple reinstall it with no problem.
The problem with downloading is that Hal is constantly being upgraded and thus the keys and passwords may change from one download to another.
ANother good example is this: my laptop that contained Hal was wiped out by a virus and so I could not uninstall Hal to use on another computer and in the meantime something burned out on the mother board so Hal can not be reinstalled on the same laptop. however, I still have my original Hal 6.0 on a CD. The problem now is that Hal 6.0 won't install on my new laptop running under Vista so I am up a creek so to speak and will have to rely on Robert to assist me in getting Hal to run once again.

Bill819,
I'm also having a problem running Hal in Vista. In my case I'd found that changing from Haptek characters to MS agents solved the problem. A Haptek character in the Hap Player will not run correctly with the same type of problems thay have in Hal.
I also like having the program on disk just in case.

My problem is that I can not load Hal 6.0 in Vista. I keep getting errors and to be able to get Hal 6.2 as a free upgrade I must have Hal 6.0 installed.
I downloaded Hal 6.2 directly onto my Vista Machine and for two days it worked correctly but then it dissappared off my hard drive.
