i have succseffuly launched and bought hal, given it a new brain based on the hallsuperbrain and it is working perfectly.... my question/s:
the hal is on my computer in my office i would like to be able to open a program (like it does already on my computer) on a difrent computer in the office.(the office is connected on a network) is their a way to get it to do this action ie: hal open "paint" on "office computer 2" i realize that the locations would have to be specified manually? any help on this? is their a plug-in that allows this?
i would also like to be able to manually specify what to open when i type in a certain text ie user: open latest photos hal: ok (then hal searches key text open latest images and runs something like this: if commandText@"open latest photos" then run:documents/images/LatestPhotos; cmd+a(select all files) enter(open files) ; or something im not a programmer so im not able to do this myself but i am able to specify what to open i think.
if you can help me find these solutions to my problem that would be wonderfull..... thank you in advance il will have my eyes constantly pealed for forum replys :)

Welcome to the Hal community hector,
your first request is possible, but you would have to have a plug-in built, I do not know of any plug-in currently that will open a program on a different machine connected with in your network. I'm not saying one is not built yet, just that I have not seen one.
for your 2nd request go to http://www.ultrahal.com/community/index.php?topic=5323.msg32725#msg32725
here is where you can find a plug-in to open pictures.
Edit: you may have to modify the plug- in's code to change the file types from video to jpeg, giff etc. it been a while since I looked at the code. (code can be viewed and modified in note pad) if you need any help I can try and help. I am not always on so reply might take a day or so.
