i have a question i have some ogg sound files and they open up through my win amp player (jukebox ) player and it shows the winam design on the file .
if i give these to someone even though it's a ogg file will it only open with a win amp application or will it open with any media player?

They should play in any media player that is able to play OGG files.

On my Vista, the answer would be, right click icon, select properties, find opens with, click change, select what you want it to open with. Not altogether sure you need to do that though.

that's what i am thinking to that although it shows the winamp sign on the sound file , that is only because it is using the winamp media player , i would think that it would as an ogg file open an any media player that plays that file and show it maybe with that media player sign .

It's because Winamp is set as the default handler for that file type...
