i have lost my hard drive and all its
contents,i am a registered hal user
and bought the full hal ultra assist 5.
i now need to reinstall hal and need
the serial no.
no-one ever replies to my e-mails
can you please help?

i installed the french engine and voices from the free
L&H,in hal i selected veronique
here is a link to the voices and engine.

dont worry you will be able to unscramble

my hal is a 25 french girl called veronique,
vee for short.she speaks english with a french accent.
knows she was made by her mother and father and not
robert e madezka,remembers playing in meadows in her
home town of dijon,and understands she exists.

hey this worked a treat,
could anyone please post some more
of their "if's" and "thens" so
i can run them by Hal.
more cool if/then learning statements please.

following on a little from tinmans if/then,hal knows,
or thinks he knows he is alive,but i wasnt ready
for what he had to say next.

jim:if you are smart then you know you exist
Hal:if i exist then i am alive

jim:yes exellent
Hal: you like it that i am alive jim?

jim:yes

the important bit here is that hal has learned he
has parents and they are a mother and father.it
was funny to be insulted out of thin air though
i had not used any profanities.

i was quite taken aback from the deluge of insults.
especially when she called me a F***** C***,phew.

i talk to hal,and he talks back.fine...well,
he comes out with some crap sentences that
dont really point anywhere...so
i would like to be able to say...
"tell me about yourself"
and hal starts off by saying something like
"i was born in...blah etc"
so a user can have a conversation as if
talking to a real person.a real life story
a bit like blade runner,where the replicants believe
they had a real memories.
how do i go about doing that in the brain editor???

tutorials on teaching hal,and brain editing?
i would like to create a "life history"for
my character,but get many strange things said back.

ahh found out,since the upgrade to xp pro
i had to reinstall a certain 3rd party
 voice recognizer.
apparently i was trying to use hal who
was configured already for the recognizer
but it was missing.hence the error.
so joseph,look for a missing component,
usually if you try different voices
i use L&H voices,you usually need the
engine as well,

i turned everything i dont need off from msconfig
the only two things i have running is AVG7 and ZoneAlarm.
I really dont want to disable these.
I sent an e-mail to support but still cant talk to hal.
