It seems that the required dll's are part of the old HAL. Spydaz if you are still out there can you please sent me the required dlls in my email as i no longer have the old HAL?

Thanks

Hi Spydaz,

Well, the VB project seems to run just fine. However, i can not locate the dll's needed nowehere in the HAL's folder. Are they perhaps part of the older HAl? Then although i registered the ocx correctly director does not seem to recognize it. Is it perhaps because it lacks of an actual interface?

Thanks

General Discussion / Greek-Speaking Haptek characters

Hi Spydaz

No my text is lowercase. Just to make sure i did the following test.

I created a script with a q2 instruction and some text in greek. I saved my file as both unicode and ANSI. The first time notepad kept the formatting of Greek correctly while in the second not. I dropped both files onto a character. None of them works correctly. My Greek T2S pick ups certain letters only.

Thanks

Hi all,

I tried what Spydaz suggested but again the T2S does not work. My character speaks only the letters from the greek text that are similar to english (like A or T).

Thanks for all your attempts to solve this problem

Sorry I posted twice the same thing.

Thanks [:)]

Ok, I think i have finally found the solution. It seesm that the only way that Haptek characters can become multilingual is if you buyt the ogg factory from Haptek ($300) and create an executable that will capture the input from the T2S engine convert it to ogg with lip-sync and upload it to the character. Let's hope that haptek will provide such executable along with Peopleputty in future version. The time that the Internet was purely English is coming slowly to an end.

Thanks

Hi All,

Thanks for your ideas and contributions to this topic.

<<Ishmal Says it may be possible to write a plugin in Vb6 containing the DLL files Refference by MR M. then REPACKAGING into an OCX... >>

This OCX is what I am looking for many many months now. I hope that Mr.Medeksza will consider seriusly this request and we will see that in the near future. Meanwhile if another member manages to develop such OCX please contact me.

Thanks

Hi Dr.Benway

The problem with Greek is that the language is not latin-based, like English and french. The problem with Greek language is common in all computer systems. In any way i will contact haptek and i will let you know!!

Thanks

Hi,

thanks for the answers. I think that the problem lies in the fact that the Haptek's character engine can not handle text messages other than english and not in the actual T2S. Is there any way to modify that? any ideas?

My haptek's SAPI config has as a default engine the Greek T2S engine. It's just that the Haptek player does not accept greek text strings. Any ideas why?
