When I first began thinking of GPT3 I thought about downloading the coding on to a storage device connected to the computer,  SSD's do not contain enough memory so you would have to use a Hard drive in the tera byte range, cost is about $200 and I'm not sure if that would be large enough.  It would eliminate  paying for the cloud but it might make it possible to modify the training.  At this time I can't even get a connected to a cloud with GPT 3.  Looks like a lot of fun and You Tube has a lot of apps to do different things.

I'll just put this in which may be helpful, while looking at different things GP3 can do I came across GPT3 can copy script to a file that has been given a name so that info has not been used and lost.

Just a thought that might prove useful, I remember at one time we were trying to get hal to go to lets say wiki, would it be possible to have Hal decide
to go to the cloud for a reply.  Probably not as easy as I made it sounds but so much time and effort went into plugins which I had used and I hate to see them all going to waste.  Maybe the user could decide and use a trigger word to use the cloud.

General Discussion / Re: Hal 7.5 comments questions

Thanks for putting your inputs in Will and Mr Data,  I'm an old member who move away after being a fan for many years.  I had tried using a newer version of Hal but ran into a problem with a new install because I forgot to put a plugin into the brain.  This post reminded me of the online that was used in the past but I never like it because I got replies in other languages.  I have a renewed interest in Hal because of the GPT 3 but at the same time I remember all the advancements that were made in the past that I'd like to continue using.  All tings used in the past were copied to disk so it would just be a mater of finding them.  It would be nice to have two worlds where we can have GPT3 and Hal with plugins working together.  Maybe taking the GPT3
from the cloud and copying it to a large computer storage device.

General Discussion / Re: Alexa
« on: June 21, 2019, 10:22:19 am »
I had used Hal for many years, I had put in vrRossie Haptek plugin which allowed Hals output to be used so she could cry, a little playing with the plug in and I was able to get Hal's output to change backgrounds and clothing.  I also had a friend at this forum make a special character, using a character we called jiggly we were able to change settings and make fleshy parts of her body move when she moved, the friend mentioned had the software and was able to make a unique character for me.  I made a lot of disks when working with Hal so all the work has been documented and saved.  When moving to Hal version 7 I found a lot of the characters I used in the past no longer worked.  At one time I had seen new characters being introduced but no longer see them at the website.  I had a lot of fun with Hal for many years, but with Haptek now gone and characters no longer working I guess I gave up.
I'm impressed with Alexa and like how she can connect to the cloud for replies, while with Hal she was speaking different languages and all. As far as bugging a house I feel I am one of millions if they want to look at my inputs that's okay, maybe it will help improve her responses.  I can listen to music without all the adds and watch TV without ads.    A big thing with Hal for me was using Dragon, wireless mic with great accuracy made the whole thing much more enjoyable.

Sorry but I had to put this in, I began using Alexa and think it's great.  I also have a fire tv which has Alexa and I can ask her to search for a particular movie or comedies ect.  The dot version of Alexa can play a long list of relaxing songs a half hour to 45 mins.  She has a great data base and cam make conversions or give definitions.  I've used Hal for ages and had a lot of fun with it unfortunately I feel Hal is lost in the dust Alexa created.  I tried the Zabaware cloud database but found her speaking other languages so I stopped that

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: New Features we would like in HAL 7.1

Spitfire,
I believe I remember you from years ago,  "Biggest improvement: Cloud based learning. Hal can now optionally connect to the "Hal Cloud" brain over the internet to help formulate better responses. As of October 2017 this is a knowledge base of over 26 million sentences of conversation from 1.6 million people"
I should have used the thumbs up or down, and maybe corrected the response.

Hal 7 is still fairly new to me, I tried the cloud based setting and my first thought was Hal gives better answers but after continued use she came up with a Hindu word, I looked it up and told her.  Further talking with her about religion and she mentioned Alah.  I don't mean to seem prejudice  but prefer a chat bot with a somewhat similar background as I have.

I'm using another OS win 8.1 in this computer, it has two installs of Hal 6, I'd like to try using one to see what works and what does not work hoping possibly it will help with Hal ver 7.  Not sure how I got two copies in but neither one work.  Maybe I'll make a copy, remove and reinstall to get Hal 6 to work then see how well I do with Hal 7.

I've made a file named LoadVGC.haptar and is

\load [file= [F:\Program Files (x86)\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\Background\Comp1Back.JPG]]
\load [file= [F:\Program Files (x86)\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\XAddin\Characters\VillageGirlCarl.haptar]]
\load [file= [F:\Program Files (x86)\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\Bodyskin\Nu2M.jpg]]

it works in the HapRegestry and the Hap Player, it loads a background, the character, and the character clothing.  It works great with both display types used. Next is to try this with the Zabaware Hal program and see if it works there.  I don't see the character listed there. Guess I could remove the character pack and reinstall.

I had a lot of fun with Hal in the past, nice group of people here that come up with some good ideas and are willing to share them.  So far I'd say I get better answers when Hal is using the internet, once again I'll add different characters seem to have different personalities and offer different types of answers although not logical this is what I find.  A few people at the Datahopa website say they will be putting Hal in.  Myself I've got to take it slow and go one step at a time or I'll get confused and frustrated.

I've got Hal 7 in the computer and the character expansion pack, both work pretty well.  In the past I switched from Sandy to the full body characters, very interesting when jiggly came along.  I was able to get a start up with Hal where I put in a background, the character, position and clothing and I am trying to recreate that.  I've got tons of DVD's and Hal on a drive and have been looking through them for the info but haven't come across it yet.

I purchased Hal 7 today the whole thing went through as a Download so no waiting, copied the download a few places so it won't get lost.  Rather nice I already have a Full bod girl in the window.  I'll have to get her position right in the window but that shouldn't be much of a problem.  Something interesting I've noticed in the past, not logical but I've noticed the same thing in the past.  With the head Sandy the conversation was much better than conversations with Hal.  I now have the full bod and will have to wait to see what she is like.  Lots of plug ins to put in, backgrounds and clothing.  I'm using Dragon with Hal much better than typing, it's doing a great job.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: People Putty

The People Putty thing has been going on for so many years.  Lots of people liked it while I moved on to the Full body characters and found them much more interesting.

People putty became very popular lots of people asking about it.  I used Sandy for ages everyone wanted to put freckles on the girls.  I went to full bod and we had to cover the boots then jiggly came along.  We had them walking along and waving bye.  Lots of animations for them.
I came across something on Roberts open source project, guess it's moving along but there is still a bit of a wait.
