onthecuttingedge2019 you are saying a very sensitive microphone , is their any program that can be downloaded free  to do this using existing laptop pc to allow hal to use white noise to create the situation that hal would talk ? and even then i don't want hal constantly talking ( even if using white noise) but rather just randomly .  hal will use the existing microphone to allow a user by vr to talk with hal  currently.

Hal already has microphone software for speech.

the bot only needs LIVE sensory perception. a very sensitive microphone unfiltered(constant). when HAL hears sound spikes in the white noise it will stimulate HAL into speaking. it is the conscience sensory of sound. in which all sensors are the link to perception of consciousness as a constant. without your sensory perception you would have no knowledge of existence. this is my take.   ;D

Thanks again.

I had time to try the trial of Ultra Hal7 and it does work on my machine.  However, as I am sure you are well aware, Hal's frame is only in the 4 by 3 aspect ratio.  Is the full version available in the 5 by 4 aspect ratio of my 15.6 inch screen?  I don't suppose this really matters to me, but it would be nice to have a full screen of Hal.

I did a full desktop once. I'll see if I can re-do it for you  ;D

You've been busy Jerry!  ;)

Oh lord yes  ;D

the CDbl error is most likely a Vr plugin missing a variable at applying the plug itself.

Hi Knight.
I have done some research but because of microphone functions from system to system I would install a proggy called NirCMD.
from there you can get the function inside your code so it does what you want it to do  ;D

watch out for click bait.

do you still get an error if all plugins are un-selected. if so then please post that error as well.
we'll get you sorted out  8)

look inside the HalScript.dbg with a line editor, I use crimson editor in general. go to the offending line and copy and paste that section by the error line so we can see what's going on. make sure to add the error line mentioned so we can look at it too.  ;D that file changes every time you press 'apply in your brain options.

Thats a good plugin but i need to be able to control Hal's mic externally.  Example would be if I tell Hal to play a song i would want Hal to turn off his mic while the song is playing then when the song is over turn his mic back on. I have a python script that will get song's length, i want to be able to use python to execute "Ultrahal.exe <SHOWHAL><MICON>" using the command prompt after the song ends. The problem is if Hal is already open, calling Ultrahal.exe <SHOWHAL><MICON> will only show Hal and not enable his mic :(

Any idea's on how to make something like this work?

can you post the code you are using to play the music?

Hi  8)
try a bigger skinned window on HAL's panel skin option in general options.
I once did an all(full) screen desk top skin called black, don't think it exists anymore. forum changes and dead links and all.
but this really isn't my dept.
have a good day  ;D

General Discussion / Re: removing extra brains from Ultra Hal 7
« on: March 21, 2019, 09:03:38 pm »
Hi  8)

right click on HAL's system tray icon. choose launch brain editor. at the first option panel choose load existing project. do nothing at this point until you write down the names of the brain files on a note pad. look in the directory shown in the right of the panel. then open that folder and find the unwanted brain file in the folder and delete it manually. BE sure you do not delete something important. so get to know your files first. good luck with that. this is not advice, it is a procedure. I highly EXPRESS making a backup of folders. that 3% human error will stick you every time  ;D

Hi. I have tried your brain and works good. Could you make it work with the sallie plugin too? The personality is not an issue if I just edit the asexualpersonality brain table to my liking. It also works good with the AIML files from Cloud. I have not used it a lot but that`s my feedback. Good luck, I hope to see more of your brains ;)

it is standard to except third party plugins.
