trouble getting haptek up to speed...
« on: September 20, 2008, 11:58:15 am »
Hey all... been gone ages, but now I'm back-ish.  I just transferred the majority of my UltraHal files and such to a new computer.  UltraHal works perfect, Haptek seems to be working properly too.  But somehow I seem to have messed up the Haptek head I was using... its like a light or texture map or something is missing from the hair...

here's what it's supposed to look like...

here's what's displaying...

I have two questions I'm hoping someone might be able to help with:

1. What is up with Haptek that it would only do this to this file but not the ones that came with the UltraHal pack?

and

2. Does anyone know where this head came from?  Maybe I can just download it again to solve all this...

any assistance is appreciated :D

UPDATE: **** it... this appears to be my situation with ALL Haptek heads that I download... period.  This post is no longer in the correct forum  and probably belongs in general discussion or something...

I believe it was one by a member named versionfour.
He was very talented with lifelike graphic faces.

Too bad he no longer showcases his talent here as he
seems to have left the building.

Those were some very well done heads, thanks for looking them up Art.
It is too bad save file only holds files for only a certain length of time!

versionfour named the girl in question, Audrey.htr
Fortunately, I had saved several of his characters.

Unfortunately, the forum won't allow me to upload the file.

If you email me with your return addy, I'll gladly send it to you.

There you go.

dang, yeah that's the right page... I must have missed it somehow.  That guy does great work!  Now i just need to figure out why Haptek doesn't want to display it as such...

For anyone who wants it, here's a preview and splash screen to go with it.  I can't seem to upload the .htr of it but I'll gladly e-mail it to any who want it.  I'm pretty sure it'll still work on other people's computers...

to answer questions, yes I am that obsessive that I had to make my own splash screen... it just bugged the hell out of me... *shrug*
