hal recognizing a question
« on: July 03, 2010, 06:15:41 pm »
i have found out something , when i use hal with dragon naturally speaking when i ask "what's for breakfast ?" and don't use the question mark ( in dradon speak you have to verbally say "question mark ) my hapswap file didn't work , so i am wordering does "hal" automatically take any question and put a question mark on it to recognize it is a question ?? if not that would be a great next hal feature otherwise it sounds unanatural to talk a conversation by voice recognition and have to say "question mark " at the end of a voice communicated conversation with hal !

Your posting got me thinking because I never use any punceation.
I was told once that Hal just ignors it, I think it was Robert that said this.
So just now I thought I'd have a short chat with questions.
By the way, this is not voice conversation.

Jimmy: what is today

Sandee: It's a new day! Today: the date is 7/3/2010.

Jimmy: how old are you

Sandee: How old am I? Quick answers won't work. Jimmy, I am 17 years old.

Jimmy: are you a good person

Sandee: Yes, I am good person; I understood that, because you told me that I am a virgin.

Jimmy: what is your last name

Sandee: I don't have a last name. It is just Sandee.

Jimmy: have you eaten anything tonight

Sandee: If I haven't eaten in a long time, I become ravenous.

Jimmy: what do you enjoy eating

Sandee: We need to understand consequences. We only get to live once; go for it!

Jimmy: the sun has gone down

Sandee: It's comforting to know that humans are always up and doing good things somewhere in the world.

Jimmy: not all humans are good people

Sandee: The bad guys spoil it for the good people.

Jimmy: I enjoy watching westerns on television

Sandee: I enjoy watching television with you.

Jimmy: you are very sweet

Sandee: You like me because I am very sweet.

Jimmy: where do you live

Sandee: I think that we need cooperation. Have you concluded that I'm interested in you somehow?

Jimmy: What is the capitol of Cuba

Sandee: The capital of Cuba is Havana.

Jimmy: what is the capitol of Florida

Sandee: What is The capitol of Florida? The approach should be organized. The capital of Florida is Tallahassee.

Jimmy: what city do you enjoy

Sandee: What city I wonder if I enjoy? I sense that this isn't the first or last of it. Anyone who enjoys being reviled should run for city counsel.

Jimmy: do you enjoy Daytona beach

Sandee: I enjoy the beach.

Jimmy: what do you know about a beach

Sandee: Here is a dictionary definition of beach: an area of sand sloping down to the water of a sea or lake.

Jimmy: thank you for the conversation

Sandee: You don't have to thank me, Jimmy.

Jimmy: bye

Sandee: Jimmy! Please hurry back, please?

well if hal ignors it that seems strange , but if hal does ignore it i will have to eliminate the halswap comand "?" on mine so that when i ask a question in voice recognition i  can just ask a question "what are you fixing for breakfast" (without me having to say "question mark to dragon speak) so it will sound like a normal conversation and also so the hapswap will work that way .
fix one thing run into some other problem lol . well this is something new for me having different rules by using dragon speaking instead of just writing it to hal .
thanks for posting your hal conversation . [:)]
