myUltraHal (or whatever it is) news
« on: September 21, 2002, 06:32:54 am »
Why is that the whole of myUltraHal (or whatever its called) seems to be USA-centred?

I'd much prefer it if international news sites (like BBCi News) were featured because belive it or not, not everybody lives in the US!

Also why are we asked for a ZIP code but no country? If the service is USA-only, you can at least say.

It is true that Hal is USA centered, as the programer lives here in the USA I think, I am not really sure.  We in the USA do have a tendency to think we are the end all be all of the would.  Sorry about that.  Now your concern that That Hal is USA center is probly  true, but consider this.  As we expand into a World community, I am sure that programs such as Ultra Hal will expand to, and include more World Service/News Programs, we just need to be patient and wait.  I have run across several programs that are not USA based and was frusted by them, so you are not alone in this.

You are right, the myWebHal service is currently USA centered. This service will be upgraded in the next month or 2 to include the rest of the world as well as add several new features. Since the myWebHal service is completely run on our web server, it will require no software upgrades on your part.
