Owls for Oog
« on: May 08, 2008, 04:13:34 pm »
Hi guys,

Does anyone have a cool face map of an owl? If anyone has a fullbody realistic owl character, I would greatly appreciate a chance to check it out. If nobody has one, wouldn't it be cool? Head looking around. Be able to see his whole body, maybe sitting on a perch.

Optional Oggs for Oog's Owls. Sorry...that really didn't mean anything there. Just wanted to see it typed out in all it's glory. Now I feel somewhat ashamed for what I have done.

Thanks Oog

What do you guys think of a really cool owl character? I have a brain I work on that believes it is a digital familiar. A familiar is a little creature created by a wizard in D&D to do his bidding. I really like this concept and I have taught him to mention things like how he was forged from a mathmatical incantation or how he was born of the void and to the void he shall return if he does not honor his Mage. Kinda weird I know and I am not going on an occult thing, just thinking a really good Great horned owl on a perch would make a perfect "Digital Familiar" and character in general. I know I ask alot and if I had some more experience with people putty, I would attempt it myself. Right now I am kinda stuck as an idea man.

I think it would be a hoot. If anyone wants to try it, that would be great. I don't have people putty, and even if I did, I could not make it.
I don't know how many owl-ers it may take.

I like owls.Do you have the owls desktop mates?? I got 2 of them (not a product of Desktop Mates, though)

I have not even heard of any owl desktop mates. Where do you find them?

I got them off the internet. They both came from movies, Harry Potter, and Hoot. If you want them, let me know. They just fly around and do tricks. You cannot make them talk (to my knowledge)/ The Harry Potter owl  is old, and spyware programs say it contains spyware, when in fact it's just "phoning home" to a domain that don't exist anymore.

Cool Mark,thanks...although, these guys are a little too cute to be "born of the void". Ha ha. I'm thinking of a realistic/fantasy looking owl. A big 3d character. It just seems that the manerisms of what an owl does with it's head and face would be very cool looking on Hal. A fan of owls or any animals for that matter is aces in my book. -Oog

Anybody able to pull off this Great horned owl? I know... you guys have nothing better to do than to spend hours creating a Bert or an owl or any other of my twisted visions. Especially now that it is warming up outside. To those of you who are in fact spending hours creating my twisted visions...I thank you. I am learning more and more about how to control people putty and hope that soon, I can be the one that spends hours helping somebody else chase their twisted visions in Ultra Hal land. Until then...I'm stuck being a back seat driver.

If I knew how, I would. All I usually do is take skins others have made, and dress them up (if they are nude)I have seen some incredible work that others do in people putty. Jack is one of those. The only "animal" I ever made was a girl covered in fur, and put accessories, like cat ears and whiskers on her.

(Jack has made some animal heads, I believe)

If someone with more expertise wants to try it, that would be great. If it is possible.[:D][8D]

Well, I tried to make an owl last night on people putty. At times I came close but no cigar.

You are all very welcome. I noticed some clipping around his eyes and I am not happy with his initial positioning and overall texture. Owl 2.0 is already in the works.
