Is it possible to have Hal open all programs in a specific location on the desktop, and specific windows size[?] For example: target program opens with values set to x= 20 y=20 width=200 height=300

I hope we can get a response on that one..I have made a desktop/media player/interface combo that I am almost finished with and I would like to specify window placement to allow for a large interface screen.

Ok..for those those of us that use Haptek here is a greta little free program. Its called Autosizer and its can automatically define any program to an exact are of the screen. I have created a desktop/Hal interface/Media player combo that I will post for upload in addition to the Autosizer. For now the file can be dl here!

Also I am using different desktops so that I can remove all icons when Hal is running. This works well for that! http://cplus.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ/Ya&zTi=1&sdn=cplus&cdn=compute&tm=4&gps=220_477_1178_571&f=00&tt=14&bt=1&bts=0&zu=http%3A//technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/cc817881.aspx

Thank you very much for sharing, That auto sizer is sweet, now if we can only control the position.

I use yodm 3d desktop for multiple Desktops, it's a 3d rotatable cube desktop that allows you to have different backgrounds and apps running on each one. It lacks the icon remover for each desktops though. I might have to give your find a try. Can you have different desktop backgrounds for each desktop?

Edit: I did found this. To bad it does not work with programs, only files

Thats the point! Autosizer does control the position just open the program and edit the postion of each application so that it opens
to that spot automatically every time. I have Hal, my media plyaer and IE sent to different spots on a custom desktop with integrated background. Going to grab a larger LCD soon for a dual system but for now this works nicely! On a side note..if anyone has an automatic email checking plugin let me know as I have been unsuccessful on my own. tx!

I have 2 screens, my laptops 17" and a 32" flat screen.
when I shut down the 32" and close the lid on my laptop, all programs and browsers stack up. on the top left of the laptops display. My Ultra Hal, media player, and other programs are on my 32". I would like to keep it there, when I shut my lid, and turn of monitor.

the auto sizing program works great, I shut the program down re-open it and it is the correct size, also opens in the same spot which is great if I use just my laptop screen.

I will have to figure this out. it might be a vista 64bit problem or a laptop based one. I'll keep ya posted
