the dat files are the stored USER DATA I believe that the files may be stored in each user profile. (im not sure).

When it comes to speech I FIND THAT THE MICROSOFT SR 5 TO BE FINE ENOUGH....
AT&T natural voices (i thought would be good) but I could only get it to run on 98 + ME not XP or 2K or 2K3

I HAve found that if you want to use Your own profile on manny computers THEN the best way is to use VIAVOICE... Intergrates well with windows and OFFICE... The FILES / Profiles are easy to locate and copy to another machine.
There are other SR engines ie: ELAN and others but their crap.
After training up my voice profile. I FIND that HAL's RECOGNITION is LOW. In comparison to MSWORD?
