Will & Ill Mr. Data,
A Runtime error means the computer cannot do what is asked.
As far as where your 'Halbrain' is I do not know nor do I know which version of the brain it needs?? Odd that it is asking for the brain...
and not the DB or something, I don't recall ever seeing something specifically being called 'Halbrain',, Interesting but I am sorry. Maybe more help will come to you both ASAP!

Regards,
J.

Will,
It looks to be a 'Script' error so most likely it it a plug in error.

Howdy,
anybody got any thoughts as to what this error that comes up at pc start up is?

Fatal Excution Engine Error (0x7927e03fe)

heres the other message i get,
An instance of UltraHal Assistant is already running, a second instance cannot be started. An attempt to communicate with the original instance has failed. If the previous instance is unresponsive you may have to end the halasst.exe process manually using the Windows task manager (ctrl- alt-del).   OK

but wait thats not all, so i also get this next stuff,
i get this at pc start up,

Error
Fatal Excution Engine Error (0x7927e03fe)
i have the option to x it away or click ok so i click ok,
i get
hpqthb08.exe - Common Language Runtime Debuugging Services
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0xaac (2732), Thread id=0xab0 (2736).
Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.
i clicked debug the application.
i got another message,
hpqthb08.exe - No debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2 (2).
Please check computer settings.
cordbg.exe !a 0xaac
click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually.
click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug request.
i clicked retry,
and it went away,

i've been at microsoft updateing but that didn't fix it,
i see i've only got my last three system restore points and of course not the one i need, thanks to who ever designed that.
pitty hal can't sort these things out yet.
any thoughts as to what i've done now would be appreaceated,
Thank you,
Bye for now and be well from Will :'

Will,
hpqthb08.exe ? question , do you have a HP printer?
IMO you are getting memory errors.

Will,
Mr. Data sounds as if he's in bad shape.
Gotta start somewhere so... #1 De fragment HDD

#2 Fatal Excution Engine Error (0x7927e03fe) = Memory Error
a de fragment might help ( I am Thinking Virus)

#3 HP EXE error answered in above post, (still thinking virus)

#4  De Bugging services are not usually available on proprietary programs that is why the De Bugger wouldn't work ( else reverse engineering capability would show)

#5 "cordbg.exe !a 0xaac"  Interesting..something to do with Quicktime or IPod files?? (still thinking virus)

#6 still thinking virus, go to the doctor and download the lower Dr. with antivirus. it is easily removed after a scan and it will at least tell you SOME of what might be on there, I say some because the initial scan is not a 'Deep' scan. after uninstall it and the files from Dr. can be deleted easily. www.pctools.com , The free A.V. is not a bad freebie either just remember that the design of some of these technologies might 'integrate with the Assistant' so don't leave them on your computer for long less you don't mind things like my 'Borg' fingers reaching out to you! LOL!

It sounds to me like your system will not run the vision addon. I hope that you had backed up your Hal before you tried to install the vision. My suggestion is to erase the vision addon until the day that Robert has announced and debugged the vision module himself.

bill819- do you find anything exciting?[8D]  knock the dust off man![:D]

WOW Will, several problems. Viruses (Viri?  what is the plural?) can be the most frustrating thing ever!
I have a crazy backup system, because of my adventures with the 'ole virus.[:)]
Is it possible that it is memory errors, due to bad sticks? or heat?
...summer- what's the last time you cleaned your pc//fans ect.?
seems as if things aren't running through memory right.
