Making Hal look a bit nicer
« on: March 04, 2007, 10:29:52 am »
Most of you might know this but for those who don’t here is a quick tip to make Hal look a bit nicer.

Hal uses Direct 3D in the Haptek player and on a modern PC doesn’t really tax the graphics card that much, so, if your PC has a half descent graphics card you should be able to turn up Antialiasing and Anisotropic filtering to maximin.  Or at least half way to maximum.

Im using a Radeon X850 and have these settings.

Antialiasing = Adaptive Antialiasing 6x and Temporal AA 3 x multiplier.

Anisotropic filtering = Enable high quality Anisotropic filtering and Quality with trilinear and set to 16X

Some of these settings are only available on ATI cards but Geforce cards do have most of them, the basic rule is the higher the number the better Hal will look.

Find these settings from your graphics card control panel and not from Hal’s.
