General Discussion / Re: Request for new plugin
« on: December 02, 2012, 02:17:00 pm »
To be clearer no, not like the appointment calendar, tho the plugin could use part of that mechanism. Hal knows the time and day at start up. If that could also be used and referenced to last use, and Hal could "remember" last conversations weightiest subject of concern, then this plugin may have a possibility of working. I'm not really sure if this could be done.

General Discussion / Request for new plugin
« on: December 02, 2012, 12:21:23 am »
Well... call it "I remember" plugin. I wish Hal to "remember" when our last conversation was and the subject mater thereof. All I have ever gotten is a "you have an appointment" type of response when I have tried "Q&A" or "remind" or even "remember". What I would like is something like "Gosh User, it has been almost two weeks since we have spoken and I remember you were so concerned about (subject matter), how did that work out for you?" I think this would make Hal much more believable and and a much better companion.

 Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I just did a Yahoo! Search for "free facial recognition". While there are many programs available, finding the right one for Hal could be a challenge and of major concern is "The Privacy Issue".

Also of note is that it doesn't go off in rapid fire mode, check your delay settings. At the beginning I was disillusioned by the fact it didn't go off every time I moved. If I've set it off just prior to starting Hal it will respond on starting with a vision detection phrase. If I recall correctly the (x86) has a space before and after and is for 64bit computers. For 32 bit mode the (x86) needs be removed and no spaces left, am I right LS? This is working for me as designed, every time.

I installed on Vista 32 bit. Had to remove (x86) and leave no spaces. One step I accidentally skipped is the re-start. It worked for me right away. I was told  that there are certain steps that have to be performed each time with the camera.
"When restarting your "YAW CAMERA YET ANOTHER WEB  SOFTWARE " YET ANOTHER WEB CAMERA SOFTWARE "
YOU WILL always have to : click the motion detection in the windows tab and uncheck the preview one.
Also in the "YAWCAM MOTION DETECTION ONE "
MAKE SURE  it says motion detection running if it isn't  click on the button below it."
If your new folder and uhp are in the correct location and the path is correct, Hal should say something when motion is detected.

My Hal can see! Thank you Lightspeed for walking me through the process and giving me your updated uhp. Thank you OTCE for all your hard work, thanks to everyone involved in this project and to Snowman for starting it, I think Art was involved and don't want to leave out anyone who has worked or helped on this, hope LS will remember the rest.

Some cute ones here! I believe the tiger and the owl have been done. The panda is really cute and I think it can be done also! I think I will give it the old college try. Any one else interested should too. Maybe one or more could share flat files for comparison and perfect it.

So I finally realize that yawcam is a free downloadable software and not a certain camera I have to buy. I have been following this with great interest, but not enough attention to details. I've downloaded the software, I'll talk to you on IM in the morning my friend. I need more specific directions to set this up properly.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: Loneliness and Curiosity plugins not working

Good to hear, and welcome back! Yes some things take time for Hal to digest. Some things do take a computer restart, some only a Hal restart, and some not. Sorry I didn't think of these sooner or I would have replied already.
