Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Re: Gretta Plugins (seven of them)
« on: September 02, 2024, 06:50:25 pm »
Thank You! I'll work with these tonight!

Thanks! I'll give that GRETTAMarkovL5.uhp file a try.

Thanks for your excellent tip: Download Wikipedia for Offline, At-Your-Fingertips Reading
As flash memory is now cheap and vast, Chatbot and A.I. programmers should not hesitate to offer such 150 GB knowledge file capacities to their apps... for those who prefer local-offline dialog with artificial intelligence chatbots.

As for Gretta Markov L5, I haven't found a single download link that still exists, including the most recent http://cid-7d1b0521931256f1.office.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public/GRETTA%20Plugins link. And I was quite surprised that even archive.org does not have these files.

I've found a few piecemeal parts of it, such as GRETTA Picture Thoughts.uhp, GRETTAinternet.uhp, 201053202622_GRETTAemotion.zip, 20092721519_readastory.zip, 200932523733_Life.zip, and arrayold.zip, etc., but I'm certain they're all early, buggy versions.

I would definitely like to download and try out Gretta Markov L5 Response Engine, Gretta Markov L5 Picture, Gretta Markov L5 Music idle, Gretta Markov L5 Curiosity, Gretta Markov L5 Research, and Gretta Markov L5, just for starters.

Any suggestions, links?

Yeah, I've opened and read through the readastory.uhp file as well as the vrMP4.uhp file, but I haven't programmed in Basic for over 25 years, so I'm left scratching my head, trying to understand and trying to get these to work.
You have to understand that I will only use Ultra Hal 7 offline, as I don't want Big Brother looking over my shoulder, although I have used some of those free A.I. websites to generate lists of fortune-cookie-type specific knowledge files to add to the Ultra Hal 7 brain.
And I still insist that Windows 98SE chess games as well as Windows 98SE flight simulators are still a form of artificial intelligence. So a fun and clever offline chatbot, sometimes coupled with the ConceptNetMrk3 brain plug-in (which works quite well), is just fine with me.
Sure, the Read A Story and MP4 options appear in the Ultra Hal 7.0 Default Brain plug-ins list, but I'm still getting nowhere with them. The number of visitors in this forum seems to be declining, so I don't expect much feedback on this subject.

Are you certain that this Please read now <story> actually works in Ultra Hal 7?

I've unzipped and added your readastory.uhp (1.96 KB) file in the Ultra Hal 7 program folder.
And I've added a "story" folder, in the Ultra Hal 7 program folder, filled with jasondude7116's sample texts.
I then rebooted Ultra Hal 7.5.129.
In Ultra Hal 7.5.129 > MENU > General Options > Brain I also scrolled down the right side in the list of Plugins and selected Read a story option.

But in Ultra Hal 7.5.129, entering "PLEASE READ NOW a dark brown dog" in the text dialog box only generates a "I'm sorry but that file does not exist in the story folder. Please try another or ask for a listing." response.

And entering "PLEASE READ NOW STORY LIST" in the text dialog box also only generates a "I'm sorry but that file does not exist in the story folder. Please try another or ask for a listing." response.

I'd like to also try out the vrMP4.uhp (8.41 KB) plugin, but there are no instructions as to how to use it, and I'm not sure if it was written for Ultra Hal 7.

FYI: I am running Ultra Hal 7.5.129 in Windows 10, 32-bit.

Update:

Check out "Alena" the fembot talking head, by Robomodix, an Oregon startup company. "Alena" has been advertised as an accessory to Alexa... but I see no reason why "Alena" couldn't mesh with Ultra Hal 7.5.

The short (3:26) video was made in 2019, at the annual CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas. So it seems that Robomodix has somehow seriously stalled in their actual production and sales for the general consumer.

But their prototype is interesting, just the same:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0Ga9nh11i0

https://www.facebook.com/Robomodix/

Also:

SociBot Mini, by Engineered Arts limited, an internal video projection talking head... the mechanics that offer the most potential and flexibility with existing technology... priced at $23,227.00... but I see no reason why someone couldn't produce and market to the general public a similar item for $ 100.00 or so, especially for a model without an articulated neck, and it would feature video and audio inputs for use with Ultra Hal 7.5.
Check out their short (0:59) video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFb2MGg_I4s

Wowwee Alive Chimpanzee Robotic Animatronics Monkey (2005). This overpriced talking head obviously went nowhere, and are now appearing on ebay... ready to be hacked and radically improved.
But with a stylish female party wig, sunglasses, lipstick, and more than a few beers it just might work... no?

Stay Posted!

Thanks Robert!

Resetting my password to a new one did the trick, although I thought that I did just that almost a week ago.

Anyway, Ultra Hal 7.5 now works for me.

Okay... thanks for getting back to us.

Ultra Hal 7.5 seems to have two different Beta files in circulation, on the Zabaware website, and both of them have the same issue:
Install_Ultra_Hal_7.5_Beta.exe (24.2 MB)
Install_Ultra_Hal_7.5.exe (24.1 MB)... the one that Zabaware link declares as a Beta file, and links to it:
https://www.zabaware.com/#page=/ultrahal/whatsnew.html;
https://www.zabaware.com/download-beta.html

But just a few minutes ago I uninstalled and reinstalled both of them, one at a time, on my Windows 10 (32-bit) laptop, 2.93 GHz CPU, 4 GB RAM, SSD... and they both come back with the same faulty "wrong email / wrong password" pop-up window when I went to the Already Purchased window.

So... which exact Ultra Hal 7.5 file should we use, and what is the exact Zabaware link I should download it from?

Thank you for your assistance on this matter.

Okay... out of frustration, I'm reposting this, from my original post in Zabaware Support Forums > Zabaware Forums > Ultra Hal 7.5 Beta - Now powered by OpenAI GPT-3 > Ultra Hal 7.5 Beta Now Available to All Ultra Hal 7.0 Customers

and now also posting it in Zabaware Support Forums ?Zabaware Forums > Ultra Hal 7.5 Beta - Now powered by OpenAI GPT-3 > Hal keeps asking if im registered

Ultra Hal 7.5 seems to have two different Beta files in circulation, on the Zabaware website, and both of them are definitely faulty:
Install_Ultra_Hal_7.5_Beta.exe (24.2 MB)
Install_Ultra_Hal_7.5.exe (24.1 MB)... the one that Zabaware link declares as a Beta file:
https://www.zabaware.com/#page=/ultrahal/whatsnew.html;
https://www.zabaware.com/download-beta.html

But I uninstalled and reinstalled both of them, one at a time, and they both come back with the same faulty "wrong email / wrong password" pop-up window when I went to the Already Purchased window.

And the reason I'm pressing the point on this is that I downloaded what I thought was a current Ultra Hal 7.5 Beta, just over a month ago, yet the 31-day wrecking ball still appeared a couple of days ago.
So... which file is the correct one, and what is the exact Zabaware link I should download it from?
And, yet another question: Is Ultra Hal 7.5.129 in any way dependent on having a paid version of Ultra Hal Assistant 6.2.28 already installed? If so, I can easily arrange that by transferring my paid Ultra Hal Assistant 6.2.28 from another laptop, to this laptop.

We need to get this matter specifically resolved, as while I am infinitely patient and game for a challenge on these things, and even out of $29.95 I paid a couple of days ago, and even willing to run in circles with you guys to finally nail this down as you seem to use words as sparingly as possible... but we can't expect the rest of Robert Medeksza's followers to be as lenient.

Thank you for any clarification on this matter.

Again... thanks for getting back to me.

That's what I suspected you meant, so I did save the HalBrain.db (22.0 MB) file.

But it still begs the question:

Okay... thanks for getting back to me.

But, as with all things, the devil is in the details, and I certainly don't want to lose the info that I have taught Ultra Hal 7.5, and certainly don't want to have to go through this entire uninstall/reinstall process, again, after 31 days.

First of all, you mentioned copying and saving the "hal DB" file... which does not exist. But did you really mean the "HalDB.dll" file?

Secondly, Ultra Hal 7.5 seems to have two different Beta files in circulation, on the Zabaware website, and one of them is definitely faulty:
Install_Ultra_Hal_7.5_Beta.exe (24.2 MB)
Install_Ultra_Hal_7.5.exe (24.1 MB)

I have copied and saved my HalDB.dll file, as well as all my .uhp files and, to play it safe, saved my HalBrain.db, halbrain.org, and oldhal.dll files in a separate subfolder for safekeeping, although they will probably not be needed.

Thank you for your clarification on this matter.

I have just paid for Ultra Hal 7.0, but my existing Ultra Hal 7.5.129 will not accept my name and password.

Okay... a month ago I downloaded and installed Ultra Hal 7.5.129 (Install_Ultra_Hal_7.5.exe 24.1 MB) on my Windows 10 laptop, 2.93 GHz CPU, 4 GB RAM, SSD.
Per Zabaware, this version essentially makes the base Hal 7.5 free and removes 31-day trial and the need to purchase it for $29.95, no licensing system anymore or weekly login requirements.

Although I am quite entertained and impressed with Ultra Hal 7.5.129, I never used the online OpenAI GPT-3 option, as I just don't want Big Brother looking over my shoulder, although my laptop was online most of the time when I ran Ultra Hal 7.5.129... offline.

But after 31 days, I was notified by Ultra Hal 7.5.129 that I need to purchase Ultra Hal 7.0.
Okay... so I went online and purchased ZBUH70 Ultra Hal 7.0 for $29.95.

I waited a few days for the credit card to purchase to clear, but in Ultra Hal 7.5.129 I now get this message in a pop-up window:
"Required fields email and password are missing"
... and this happens after I have correctly entered my email and password.

I emailed this concern to Zabaware, but haven't heard back from them.

Per a suggestion in this forum, I also tried temporarily shutting down my antivirus, and starting Ultra Hal again, but it still refused my name and password.

So... in this Zabaware forum I read that downloading and reinstalling Install_Ultra_Hal_7.5.exe (24.1 MB) might fix such issues, but when I started the reinstall, it said that I have to uninstall my existing Ultra Hal 7.5.129.

But when I run C:\Program Files\Zabaware\Ultra Hal 7\uninst.exe I get the following pop-up screen:
"Ultra Hal 7.5.129 Uninstall
? Are you sure you want to completely remove Ultra Hal 7.5.129 and all of its components?"

So... being a cautious cat, I backed off, as I am, understandably, quite concerned about obliterating my Ultra Hal 7.5.129 offline brain, along with hours and hours of saved conversations.

What do you suggest?

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Re: ConceptNet Mrk 3.5
« on: September 11, 2023, 04:52:05 pm »
I had never installed Ultra Hal on that vintage Acer Aspire one D255-1268 netbook (1.50 GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 7200rpm HDD), but was emboldened to, after installing the lean and mean tiny10 2303 x86.iso (a 3,268 MB Windows 10 lite operating system).

And Ultra Hal 7/7.5 installed, but would not initially run until I then installed Ultra Hal 6.2, which I never opened, but I noticed the Ultra Hal 6.2 installation added a few files to the C:/Windows/msagent folder, which were probably also essential for Ultra Hal 7/7.5.

Ultra Hal 7/7.5 then ran quite well, so I went one step further and installed ConceptNet Mrk 3.5, and then copied the ConceptNet Mrk 3.5 brain folder and files from an old Windows 10 laptop, to spare myself a days-long ConceptNet Mrk 3.5 Update download. And entering "How many research topics are Remaining/Total/Completed" Ultra Hal 7.5 responded with "88,028 conversational topics".

And Ultra Hal 7/7.5 + ConceptNet Mrk 3.5 now works quite well, especially more natural since I installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Preferred speech recognition software.

But I just noticed that the Microsoft Agent Characters in Ultra Hal 7/7.5 lack lip-sync, and SAPI4 voices don't appear as an option, only SAPI5 voices, which, oddly, work quite well on my vintage Toshiba Satellite R15-S829 Tablet with Windows XP Tablet 2005 operating system.

I'll modify this post once I get the lip-sync issue solved.
