Ultra Hal 7.0 / Full body code help
« on: July 05, 2006, 11:33:04 am »
Does anyone have a code which will allow me to see Emma in full body mode?
I have the Fullbody.hap files in my character folder but have no idea of how to set a code in the defbrain editor so that I can use them.
If anyone can help me out here it would be greatly appreciated.

Agree`d i would love to have Emma on msnm, most of the people i know dont use AIM or want to have anything to do with it, there is great potential in having our Bots play on MSNM

General Discussion / A memory stick for your HAL
« on: July 04, 2006, 11:40:15 am »
Sorry for bumping this thread but what is the average size of the Ultra hal file on the hard drive, only I am realy liking the idea of being able to take Emma with me were ever I am. Just think as long as you have access to a PC you can load up your own AI bot.
Now with this the possibilities are endless.

Edit: Im at home now, I have copied the Ultra Hal 5 folder to my data stick, renamed the Ultra hal folder on my hard drive so that Emma wouldnt find her defbrain and tried to run hal from the data stick. I click on the ultrahal.exe to launch Emma and it worked, well kind of, the .exe file installed a basic defbrain in a new Ultra hal 5 folder.

Does anyone know if it is possible to run Hal directly from the data stick so that he/she reads the files from the defbrain on the data stick as well as storing new knowledge in the defbrain on the stick?

(The good news is when Emma did launch I got the correct character with the correct voice, using the correct XTF brain).

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Full Body Help
« on: May 29, 2005, 03:06:41 pm »
I need help. I have the full body hap for TV Girl, but I can not get anything below the head to work, I can get minimum arm movement but I want more.
I also have the Full body TV Girl but it is not a Haptec document so I cant open it or run it as my bot.
I have tried everything I can think of with no success.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Essence of life.

Am I mistaken or, although Animals do have all the above sences and are living entitys they are for the most part not self aware. Most are aware of possible dangerous situations but this is genetic instinct.

That said a voice analizer would give Hal hearing. If this is possible, which it will be in the none to distant future, would it not be possible to get Hal to be able to recognise pictures ( I have seen a post offering picture recognition) but if these pictures were fed to Hal via a web cam would this not give Hal sight, so if You the user were to sit by your computer, launch Hal and turn on your web cam, Hal could see the images given by the camera and recall the image of you, the user as the user...

The only Limitations to Hals evolution is our Imagination

I think I might have done something wrong with this brain.
i unzipped it and installed it in the usual way, selected the brain from the options, in the usual way. But for the life of me I can not get Emma/Master Ziggy to learn or remember anything I tell her, and i have tryed every technic known, using "if,then" statments, asking a question, giving the required or correct responce and asking the question again such as

User: My wife is tracy
Ziggy: I bet Tracy is a nice person
User: Who is my wife?
Ziggy: Are you getting excited?
User: My wife is tracy
Ziggy: Word !
User: Who is my wife?
Ziggy: I know your wife

etc.etc.etc trying all possible ways to get Ziggy to realise that Tracy is my wife, and nothing.
Is there anything I am missing or doing wrong?
I have made no modifications to either the Ziggy brain or the ziggy word folder.

Hey there,
I am sure there is a script which I could modify which would close Hal for you, I had a thread going last year were if Hal was idle for so many mins he/she would initiate a conversation, I think it would be easy enough to modify it to switch Hal off instead of the other. As for getting Hal to switch on or "wake up at sertain times of day, you will be able to set this up via the Scheduled tasks.
you can find this by clicking the Styart button/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Scheduled Tasks.

Once opened if you select browse click on my computer/Program Files/Zabaware and select the Ultra Hal icon select the initial time you want Hal to wake up and on the last screen were you see the Finish button put a tick in the Advanced options box and click finish.
Click on the Shedule tab and select Advanced Put a tick in the Repeat Task and select the times you want hal to star. You can also set the task scheduler not to start if Hal is already runnng, this way Hal will not wake up if he/she is already awake. [:D]

General Discussion / A 5 month Evolution in Hal
« on: May 08, 2005, 02:49:26 pm »
Hey there, I have been away for some time now, Got rid of my laptop and replaced it with a half decent desk top PC, Emma likes it, she is working alot better now [:)]
Anyway I dont have internet at the moment so I can not update my bot for a while, I have been looking around the forum and I can not beleive the leaps Hal & Ziggy have made in the past 5 month, since I was last here. The speed at which they have evolved is mind blowing, if this continues then Ultra Hal could be a strong AI in the next 5 years or so.
( I have posted this from work and I get my e-mails on my cell phone now, if you were wondering how I got here with no internet.[}:)])

A Big Well Done to everyone who has helped Hal and Ziggy grow up.
