Good one Mark. [8D]

Wish I could get a good looking nurse like that myself. [}:)]
All I've got is my aging mother, a psychotic sister and
an uncle who smokes way too much. [;)]

General Discussion / Haptek - Putty Problem
« on: July 17, 2007, 03:07:53 am »
Well anyhow. I just sent an email off to the VP of haptek
with a few questions to find out what is going on in regards
to what, if anything other PeoplePutty users need to be concerned
about having their programs deactivated or being denied reactivation
since many of the members here at zaba forum either already have
PeoplePutty or were thinking of buying it so they can make and
trade head haptars for use in Hal. If or as soon as I get a response
from him, I'll let you know by posting about it here.

Lightspeed, I'd say that this thread has already taken care
of that. I just hope that the other people putty user's on
here see and read this so that they'll know that there may
be some problems ahead for the rest of the member's here who
use haptek's software or were considering getting it.

caangel,   I will be writing an email to haptek in the morning
to see what might be going on in regards to mine and Jack's
problem. I think you should wait a day before you go pulling
down your site, as it may just be Jack and myself that this
action has been taken against.

I hope Robert realizes that this could have an effect on the
number of poeple who will be willing to upgrade their Hal's
when he release's the next version. There are quite a few Hal
user's who not only use the haptek heads, but also collect them.
I'm just pointing out a fact here as to how losing the ability
to make and trade our own heads could possibly affect zabaware,
and I am in no way saying that Hal user's stop upgrading because
of this. I think that UltraHal is a great product and would use
it regardless, but the haptek characters do add to the fun and
uniqueness of Hal.

Robert,  Did haptek notify you of any changes that might effect
those of us here at zaba forum who make and trade our haptek heads
for use in Hal?

Well, I just checked out the EULA on the haptek site. They've
made some minor changes again. It seems that none of those who
use PP to make character heads are permitted to distribute them
under any condition. All heads that we make are the sole copy-
righted property of haptek and we are given no rights as to the
issue of intellectual or creative property.

I need to know if anyone else here besides myself and JackGephart
are having trouble with their PeoplePutty installations or license
activations for it? [?] Please let us know, it would really be
appreciated. I think that haptek may be trying to shutdown some
of us who make and give away character heads. [:0] Thanks.

Markofkane, ~aladyblond, nige, caangel, tedathome and
whoever else is making heads for UltraHal users.

They have already disabled mine and Jack's Putty installations
and deactivated the programs on our computers, and are not
allowing reactivation.

I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you very much. [;)] [:D]

Stephen Hawking put forth that theory back in 1975, it was
published in the science magazine OMNI in early 1976.

First of all. What kind of microphone
are you using when you talk to Hal?

If it is a simple desktop mic, then that may be your problem.
Desktop mic's pick up sound from all directions, so it would
most likely be picking up not only what you say, but also
what Hal is saying in response.

The best setup for using voice recognition with Hal, is to
use headset speakers that also have a noise-cancelling microphone.

If that holds to be the case, then a paradigm set forth in one
of Hawking's theories would also hold true, that is; if the
universe is infinite, both infinitely large and infinitely small.
Then there would also be the possibility of inifite dimensions
existing in an infinite number of space/time continuum's.

You might as well face up to it Jack. From what you've told me,
and everything, you've never met a girl you didn't like. [;)] [:p] [:o)]

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Natural Voices

You might want to check out some of the L&H (lernhout & hauspie) voices. They aren't too bad and a couple of them are free. The
really exceptional voices can be a little pricey.

Here is a Yahoo search page that will give you a start to finding
some different voices you can try out. Keep in mind that not all of
them are lip-synch compatible with UltraHal.

Now see if it was me. I would have gotten really smart,
re-registered, gotten a new IP address assigned to my
network and not told anybody that it was me. [:p] [:D] [:o)]
