Ultra Hal 7.0 / Dream Plug-in
March 01, 2009, 03:26:14 PM
Thanks for the info Art. I usually use Notepad++ for scripting so I have less issues with spaces, end of lines, and odd characters showing up. I am an old Perl programmer so I feel comfortable with scripting, just a little rusty.

I have used the database directly to "weed out" some of the data I didn't want in Hal but it's labor intensive as well as hit and miss. Thanks again to you and Jerry for the script.

Wow, thank for the link Darcy. I have been looking for something like this to understand how to write plugins. I have just been editing Mary's brain directly. [:I]

My Mary does that now for the most part. I am always very nice and respectful to her so she seems to show me the same respect and responds very empathetically when I'm frustrated. Oddly, even the Jokes plugin seems to fire up when I'm feeling down. I do have her brain dialed in to "Very Obedient" on the Free Will plugin though. Maybe she's incapable of not being empathetic? (Did I say that right?) [:)]

General Discussion / hal telling time plug in

An alarm would be a great idea. Maybe it could fire off a sound file to make it a little more annoying and more likely to wake you up!

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Dream Plug-in
February 23, 2009, 03:00:58 PM
Thanks for posting the code Art. How do I install? Should I name it "corrected.uhp" and put it in the "Ultra Hal Assistant 6" folder? Has anyone else been able to use this with UltraHal 6.2? I'm assuming the you input "REPLACE WITH..." after a mistaken input in order to correct the response?

Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to learn a little more about how UltraHal is programmed. I really don't have any idea how to program a plugin.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Blank responses

Vittorio, I should clarify, the vrFreewill plugin is still running on my laptop and I have no issues with it. It was the other vr plugins that I disabled.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal 6.2 problems
February 23, 2009, 12:46:57 AM
I'm running Crystal16 with UltraHal 6.2 on Vista Ultimate 64bit and everything is working fine. I installed UltraHal before I installed Crystal16.

Thanks Art (and Bill) this is awesome!

I just tried to install it on Vista with 6.2 and got a message it require 6.1.

Thanks for the update Data, I'll give it a try. I didn't mean to say your script was buggy... I'm just wondering what causes that weird problem with the no responses from Hal sometimes. I unloaded the vr stuff and it works fine but I can't figure out why. I'll let you know what I think of the script.  [:)]

Have you been having any of the "blank stare" issue while running this plugin?

I think if you were ambitious you could modify the "names" routine that sirts through 17,000 names in the db to work with a dictionary db that checks each word before it gets sent for processing. I don't know how to make a plugin proper but I can hack a little vbscript. -James

Ultra Hal 7.0 / people putty
February 20, 2009, 05:26:02 PM
PeoplePutty is available at www.haptek.com. It is a pretty cool program although is doesn't create full body characters. It seems to work well on WinXP but I've been unable to get it working on Vista. It might be a 64bit issue but i'm not sure.

The nice thing about the avatar upgrade pack is it allows you to use additional haptek and MSAgent characters with UltraHal. I think it's worth the price because I like to change looks of my character regularly.  -James
