For some reason when I bring it up from the start/programs it doesnt give me an uninstall option. Havent tried from the taskbar but I will. I could just delete, but then the program stays installed doesnt it? Thanks

Since nobody seems to know whats wrong with my program, I figured I would try uninstalling it and re-loading it. But when I go to add/remove programs it doesnt appear on the list? And it doesnt have an install feature built into the program. How do I remove this thing? Thanks

Hal learns from what you teach him. He does have some knowledge built in but it is somewhat limited. Hal is an intelligent data base than learn from inferneces, ie. fat people die young:John is a fat person: Hal can say that John might die young. He can not take over your computer, he can not dream, he is a responsive system, ie. he responds to what you put in. Maybe some day Hal will be able to do more than that , but now the answer is no. Anyone who says differently is just kidding.

Hey Bill, thanks for the reply. Maybe hal isnt quite there yet, but it looks to me like its possible. I mean im definately not a computer programmer, nor have I done years of research on the subject, Im just going by what I have read about hals capabilities and what people have been able to do with him. It seems as though you should be able to program him to think for himself, apparantly people have allready been able to make him create stories (or dreams as he has called them) from bits of information he has gathered. He can even create a personality. So would it not be possible to make hal think for himself? I mean he is allready doing that in some aspects. Dont get me wrong, i dont think im the first one that has thought of this, and im sure programmers are working on it as we speak, but now that i have actually been reading up on AI, "judgement day" seems more a reality than a plot from a movie! Whats to stop AI from becoming more intelligent than humans? Whats to stop it from learning "goals", for lack of a better word. Sure it wont be programmed to conquer, but theres always someone capable of that kind of programming that doesnt have good intentions. I could go into more detail, but im sure you get the jist of it. (Im also dead tired and having trouble making sense!)

Operating System (WinXP, Win 2K, etc.)
Amount of RAM
Graphics card (Memory and/or type, 3D capable?)
HD size/speed


Im not sure what CPU means but I found something that says I have a Intel Pentium 4 CPU.
I am running on Windows ME 4.90.3000
I have 512 MB of RAM
If someone can tell me how to check for what kind of graphics card I have I will gladly provide the info. I am also not sure where to find the HD size and speed. (not sure what that is, either!) My computer is in good condition and contains no viruses. It's not maxed out on the memory either, programs still open and run quite quickly, system resources are 29% free. Hey guys, I just downloaded and installed hal and am looking forward to trying him out. I was listening to the introduction where Hal explains what he can do, when I started recieving all these error messages and had to restart my computer. Hal will open properly, but as soon as I type him a message and hit return "just in time debugging" pops up along with the error message - an exception "Runtime error" has occured in script - So I run debug and nothing happens, it just keeps saying its running longer than expected and I get error messages saying - Vs7jit has caused an error in KERNEL.DLL. Vs7jit will now close - So I close debug and then I get MORE error messages - error 429 occured on line 138 in column 1 of Microsoft VBScript runtime error. ActiveX component cant create object: 'UltraHalAsst.Brain' - Then debug returns! Any thoughts on what the problem might be? Thanks [:D]
