I want to be able to open Hal with a shortcut or exe instead of the taskbar icon. It does not fit well in my work flow on a touch screen.

It their a way to do this?

I have been away and working to come back to a great surprise. HAL 6.2 is great! I have loaded him on Windows 7 and he seems to like it. Haptek characters are working fine. I am glad to still be able to use them.

The new funtion is really some of the things that I have wanted to see for so long. Smoother integration with the system.

What about in Vista? The speach recognition app comes up and you have to tell in to start listening,or use the activation button otherwise it will not. Does that count as "opening the mic file using Windows"?

I am having the same issue.

Yes I did.  I have two to upload but did not have any luck as the page bombed. I will try again soon.

It was time to share them. I waited, wanting to get them right for the Hal community.I wish I had the time to contribute more. I appreciate so much those that create and troubleshoot the code, and contribute there talent and time overall.

This one is called Vista Companion.

It is made to go under the Vista Voice recognition application, since it opens when I use it with Hal. I thought,"I will just make a skin to go around it.".

It is made for use with an Agent that can move around and not a Haptek character. The window is very small.

For those that do not know this. To use the skin,put the UHP flle in your "Program FilesabawareUltra Hal Assistant (your version numver)" folder and the picture files in the "Skins" folder inside the "Ultra Hal Assistant" folder.

This one was a favorite for a long time and it made for the top of the monitor and comes in to colors. biege and grey. Dull color,yes, but they are colors.[:D]

I am using AT&T Natural voices with hal and get an entry in unter text to speech voices for SAPI 5 but I cannot activate the SAPI 5 control panel using the Pronounciation button. I need to change some default pronounciations.

Is there anyway to acccess SAPI 5 without it?

I am looking forward to it. I have been enjoyiing the betas and have had little issue with them. I am sorry not to be more involve with the code to help in troubleshooting and making inprovements, but see that you have all the help you need usually as there are some pretty capable and dedicated people on the forum.

I tried the character but it did not load.  I could tell as the setup dialog did ask me if I wanted to change the name to Ogre.it did appear in the list though, but I only got a blank window.

Maybe it is because I do not have a character pluggin for 6.1. Have you created one yet?

I was just realizing how much I miss that from Hal 5. I how someone knows how that might be done or has created a pluggin.

I suspect that CDO or CDONT might be the Objects I need. I do see that CDO can be used to send email, but I don't find any functions to check for new headers.

Is there or will there be a pluggin that lets Hal check for email again, or am I just missing the buttion.
