Panera Bread is going to replace many of their workers in the US with touchscreen kiosks and robots by 2016. McDonalds has already rolled out 7000 kiosks across Europe where minimum wages are much higher. Other chains are likely to follow.

Wow!  What are we going to do?  If it wasn't for an aging population I would say we were totally doomed. 

Of course many texts have been written about a Utopian future where machines fulfill the functions of production, but where does that leave man?

As long as we depend upon a monetary system which only rewards consumption instead of conservation our ability to sustain our way of life may one day disappear, violently.
