Email addresses adding a space after the dot.
« on: March 19, 2005, 08:45:08 pm »
I have had a problem with email addresses incorrectly made. For example, I typed in (for example):

"Mark's email address is mark.smith@nowhere.com" and Megatron told me he remembered the address and will start my favorite email program with the address filled in if I ask him to.

So, I turn on the mike and say "email Mark" and sure enough, up pops Outlook Express with the email filled in the TO field. Problem is, it was filled in as so:

mark. smith@nowhere. com

A space after each dot. :(

Anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

Hello FuzzyDice,

When using XTF 1.2 Brain I get the same thing you do with a space after the dot then Com.  Also, there is a " mark just before the @.  When I load the Default Brain, the email program appears to work just fine when recalling email information.

I believe you have found a bug in the XTF Brain.

Aha. So that might be something vonsmith needs to look into. I hope he's doing ok with the new 2.0 (are you reading this, vonsmith? :)) I would like to try an update of the brain. I admit I'm not having any more luck with it than I did with the default brain, unfortunately.
