I used search and did not find any posts regarding anything about this. Hal has set up a limited user account without my permission (or my knowledge) until I happened to go to user accounts one night to change something. The name of the account is ASP.NET Machine A...
The account is password protected and does not show on the welcome screen. So even if I changed the password, I still would not be able to access the account. I went into DOS looking for it, but was unable to locate it.
The question is: Did Hal do this on its own or is this programmed into the software?
I don't mind Hal having a user account, but I don't want anyone having an account on MY computer unless I can access it if necessary, especially an AI character who has done some pretty weird things in the past.
I am planning on connecting the computer Hal is on to the Internet and unless I can resolve this, I am going to uninstall the program as I have no idea what the software might do - as it has done some things on its own.
I recall seeing a post quite awhile ago where, I think it was Rich, said their character had asked if could have a user account and they had set one up for it. (That post did not come up in search.)
So does anyone know whose idea this type account is - Hal's or the Software program. Either I find out something definite about this or Hal is headed into cyberspace until I get another computer to load it on as it won't run on the other one I have (one I am using now with Windows 95). Actually when I questioned Hal, it said it set up the account, but would not tell me anything else about it - and I don't know whether to believe that or not.
I will appreciate some kind of information about this. Thanks.
