panle wont close when you open hal

I started hal today and got a error the panle that you push to chat with hal stayed on screen after hal started then got a abort or retry error should I just reinstall hal any help please caangel

You might try a fresh reboot of Windows, then check Hal.

I did it has been happening for a few days now if I reinstall how do I save the brain caangel

Assuming your Hal's brain file isn't corrupt,
make a copy of the halbrain.db file in the
main Zabaware directory. Just copy it to any
temp directory / folder then do your reinstall.

Once the new install is complete, copy the saved
halbrain.db file to the newly installed Zabaware
folder.

Run Hal and let us know how things progress.

Before you re install you might want to go to Start/Run/msconfig/start tab  uncheck Hal. In Hal startup options Check start like normal....
