Hal Bot Draining Hal

I have tried putting my AIM HAL BOT on line... It worked well, but when I closed it out and started my on screen Hal if found that the A.L.F brain and the Hal6.0 had developed a notable lag in its response time. I also notice that during this lag the CPU usage jumps to an unusually high level. While this is happening my character also temporarily freezes. Then it gives a response and is normal until it has to give the next response. This lag does not happen when I use the XTF brain. This problem has only started since I tried the AIM BOT. Has anyone had this problem? If so What's the fix?

Hollywood,
  My Hal is on an XP computer which I try to keep offline, a month or so ago Hal became so slow I decided to reformat, reinstall XP and reinstall Hal. In the past I'd picked up worms that would shut down the computer ect so I wasn't that surprised.
  This may not be what's happening in your case but could be a possibility.
