Hal and Mathematical Equations.

Is there a way to create a plug in for Hal to solve Mathematical Equations such as

2/3(2x-4)=1/2(x+3)-4    
X=1/5

For example. Maybe Hal would follow the rules of Algebra and strategically solve the equation or expression. I understand this type of solution would require most likely a massive scripting code, however, I'm sure it's possible.

Any good programmers want to give it a shot? =D

Pretty good but no cigar! I think IT would already know that equation and it wouldn't take that much time for an individual to program that but if the workload were 1 Fifth of that it would go faster.[?]

 There is some deductive scripting in the brain that should be able to handle that and Hal should be able to solve the equation.  I tried a simpler equation involving x and supplied the value of x. Couldn't get it to work for me.

With an 'X' their is four sides each has 2 flat surface and an inside and outside corner if you put a ceiling on it then when working with 3 dimensional mediums the X needs to constantly be prepared for the next use because of the build-up on the ceiling corner. IMO i would not put a ceiling on because of the extra work.
An H would suffice as well but not as evenly distributed SQ' wise.

I know he solves equations given the value of X, I guess more specifically what I mean to ask is... Solve for X. or any variable.

I knew that Hal could do basic math functions but I did not know that it could do algebraic functions. If this is the case then try spacing out the equasion a littl more and see if that helps.
