Life after re-format

can someone help please!
The next time I re-format my hard drive, is there any way I can re-install Ultra Hal and keep everything Hal has learned intact,i.e. is there some part I can lift out of the program files before re-formatting and replace after?

Save the folder in "program files".
Reformat your pc ...
Reinstall Hall
Put the folder back and it will be ok.
In fact only the *brn and *dat files matter.
