If you have Hal 5.0 you can go into "General Options" and then select the "Internet" tab. Then you should see the fields to enter email account information. But it looks like that Hal will only work with POP3 E-mail type servers. If you have an ISP then the email service with that ISP must be a POP3 type in order for Hal to work.
What is POP3?...well, if you have AOL, I am pretty sure that is not POP3. Hotmail is a web-based POP3, but the last that I heard was that it does not work very well with other integrated applications. However, I did hear that EarthLink is one of the best ISP POP3's out there.
