webHal

I'm unable to get any functionality out of the webHal service.  The buttons on the internet option tab don't work and Hal is clueless about anything web-related.  Is it a bad install? I'm always connected through an ATT@home cable modem so there is no trouble with my connection.  I was considering upgrading but I'm not going to pay anything for a program that just BS's and runs programs.  Any help is appreciated.

I need  web  hal also   but i am running  dsl on another computer with internet connection sharing , and a firewall.  
I will see  how all this comes together this afternoon  when i install the 4.0  version i just bought.
