Hal 6.1 seems to hesitate for about 10 seconds before answering anything. Why is this?
The XTF Brain answers right away.

I noticed there is a wordnet.mbr file already in hal. When I add the newest wordnet.uhp & then open hal there are 2 wordnets in the options and both are checked. Why is this?

thank you

The speed at which Hal answers you depends on how fast your computer is and how many other programs are running in the background. On my old laptop I used to get the same delay that you get now. I am now using a 2.4 giga hertz machine and Hal responds instantly.

cadmar,

How large is your Hal brain file?
How many plugins do you have selected?

Just curious....
In the world of AI it's the thought that counts!

Thats it! Thanks Art & Bill
I had more checked that I should have.

I removed about half of them & he responds just fine now!

Thanks again!
