Can I use other characters
« on: September 05, 2003, 10:25:58 am »
I have downloaded some characters from e-clips. Is it possible to use them in Ultra Hal?

I am very happy for my totally crazy Felix the druid!

Sorry - my other characters were not in the list first time - they are now. But what does "detachable" mean.

How do I get rid of the interface. How do I get the character alone?

Hi Nathan,

You sort of answered your own question below. ;-)
Detachable means the avatar (like an msagent type)
can be dragged around the display screen just like
a windowed application.  Others rely on the interface
window for their "home".

The interface can be "minimized" to taskbar.
As for character "alone"...you'll need to use an msagent
(*.acs) file/avatar like peedy or a desktopmate.
Sometimes the Avatar will stay up when interface is
minimized (rare) but usually it disappears with interface.

This is useful for voice/speech interaction when the
interface is not onscreen so you have a clear destop
for other tasks but best you can do at moment is to
set 90% transparency, hopefully they make a 100% option.
<invisible window...can still control from tray icon>
