Replies happen before i finish entering txt

When I type into HAL, sometimes it seems to take my text and run with it. Sometimes, even a simple "Define <word>" gets entered before I type the word part, meaning I get some silly response to the word "define."
Is there some sort of program that might interfere with this? Is it simply a quirk? I can't find any settings that should cause it.

You may accidentally have your "speech recognition" enabled in the options menu.
