Ok I see all these files; what files are associated and where exactly do I install these files in HAL.

The files above are skin-files made by Crunch for the famous "Fullbody girl" from Haptek. When you drag these pictures to an open haptek window and drop them into the window on the girl her appearance will change.

Probably the easiest way to let your girl change her skin in Hal is by activating the Haptek console editor:

I was actually playing with backgrounds but as you pointed out they can sometimes have strange effects.

LOAD BACKGROUND

Explanation: load an picture to use as background texture, or set the background color of a scene.

Aliases:   
LOADBACKGROUND
LOADBG
LOADBACKGRND
LOADBACKGRNDCOLOR

LOADBACKGRNDPIC

LOADBACKGRND [ FILE= [...] i0= ]
file=      .bmp or .jpg-picture
i0=      use picture as:
      i0= 0   texture for environment map
      i0= 1   background image

Example: Set the background.

   LoadBackGrnd[ FILE=[save_B.jpg] i0= 1]


LOADBACKGRND [ r= g= b= ]

      specify background color in RGB-format.
      Valid values for components are 0 to 255.
r=      red component of background color
g=      green component of background color
b=      blue component of background color


Example: Set the background to be pure blue

   LoadBackGrnd[ r= 0 g= 0 b= 1 ]

Please go ahead and ask as much as you like.

You can't make the clothes permanent. Haptek does not make this possible. Even if you buy the program "People Putty" from Haptek you can make different faces, but no new bodies. Sorry.

Maviarab, your Hal 9000-skin, was in fact the first example of an addon skin for Hal I admired when I joined this forum. It was part of the infamous "grabbag.zip". But somehow it wasn't complete. I remember that I tried to find the config-file to make the skin work. I must then have overlooked the zip-file in the tread you link to.
I also remember something about a Hal 9000-splash screen for Hal at some point. Was that also yours? I never saw the movie: what is "Sal"?

Anyway, I think you should make an installer for it and upload it to the official Zabaware-download section. I consider it a classic. It is a very beautiful made skin.

I think that Roger should also send his skins to official upload-section! Every month it must be getting harder for new forum users to find your skins.

Thank you indeed...and the splash screen was not mine.hmmm...ok...now how do i make an installer? lol...never tried that?..and suggestions?

And Sal was the 9000 series computer that is Hal's twin on earth in the book/film 2010. Dr.Chandra disconnects Sal (with her approval..."yes you will dream" he replies to her question) to see if Hal can be "reawoken" to continue with his tasks/find out what wrong with the mission.
