do you need other software to be able to use mic with hal 6 thanks Caangel

Probably you don't. You do have to make sure your mike is set up, that a speech recognition engine is present, and that you have the speech option turned on.

Usually you can do this all in the General Options dialog. Choose "Speech" then click the check box to turn on Speech recognition, then use the other options to set up your microphone and train the voice recognition.

Lastly, on the Hal interface, you have to click on the little "Mic" button when you want to start using the microphone.

Depends which version of Windows you have. It's included with XP.Think Microsoft SAPI5 is included with Hal so it might just need reinstalling. It's also available for free download from Microsoft's site.

thank you checking it out now ok installed everything but with hal mic is not working I click the mic button says mic is on but nothing I went to do training and it still says i dont have it so I think I will buy one thanks for the help caangel
