ok i figured out that you can make the oog files through the people putty by importing your wave file into people putty which automatically changed them into oog files .

my next question is what free recorder can i download that will record enough of a song for me to create a oog file . the microsoft free recorder on my pc only does about 30 ? seconds or can it be adjusted to longer times ?? its in the start up menu then programs and then entertainment and then to recorder (on my xp ) .
 thanks !![:)]

You are welcome lightspeed. For recording video and audio I use Camstudio, but looked it up and it is no longer avaiable. This might not be the right answer, but have you tryed windows movie maker? I know you can record just audio there but hav'nt tryed exporting.[:D]
OH YEA! DUH PEOPLE PUTTY will record for you and auto lipsync if you use a microphone or line in to record music that you want but sometimes the music is loud enough it gets lipsynkd to. Nige is the expert at that stuff. Jack knows a quite a lot too without having to buy the expensive PP add on. Gt40 is pretty good at it as well as Dusky and Mark knows a thing or two I'm sure, come to think of it so does Bill and a whole lot of others. Sorry to leave them out but the more I think about it the more names that come to mind on this topic.

I have a Logitech QuickCam I bought at Radio Shack for $29.
You can buy cheaper cams but you might want to shoot videos with it sometime and this is good quality. A cam has a mic built in.
The cam plugs into any USB port.
I can talk on the cam and video myself sitting here or I can just turn on its audio record and talk to it and it makes a wave file of my talking (or singing) You can then take that wave file and run it through people putty for Lipsync.

To show you what's possible, here's a little video I shot with the cam.

made oog file but problems

Hi everyone!

I must say I never recorded my own voice when I was hooked to my little Haptek skits, because I don't like it, especially in English, lol. BTW I rarely use my webcam (cute movie Dusky, I remember it), because I don't like to see my face on the screen (except in Second Life, of course). Relol.[:D]

I made my dialogs with online tts demos (like http://elvis.naturalvoices.com/cgi-bin/ttsdemo-act-new/).

Then, I used Audacity (terrific freeware, total fan of it) if necessary, like for making stereo files, changing the voice or adding some other effects.

And finally put the wavs in PeoplePutty (I only purchased PP for that!) and got oggs with lipsync. I guess Nige can have much more cute results with the Haptek software he has. But, lightspeed, impossible to get lipsync with Audacity only.

About CamStudio, Ted, I have it too. Another very cool freeware.[8D]

ok i figured that out that problem actually after i sent the songs into real player that it changed them into mp3 format automatically then i right then i import them from my music file into audacity and then export it as a wave file into the hapteck sound file . once it goes into it hapteck automatically makes that wave file into a ogg file and i can use it .

now i am working on hopefully my last step i see when a song plays that the hapteck moves its mouth also to the music i am thinking maybe a person has to set the music sound a little lower than the singing or is that possible ? anyone who has used audacity program do you know if this can be done ?? i will try to figure this out too but if anyone already knows please by all means let me know my brain is getting tired already !!lol !![:D]

Ok, I just remembered how I changed mp3 to .wav. You got that far I see. See if you can multi-track with audacity to lower volume or perhaps change tone of music or change tone on voice. People putty wouldn't lyp sync for me on the song I changed, but I was having problems with my computer and PP at the time.

ok guys and gals come on this time i didnt figure out the problems is their anyone who has done and knows how to solve the problem when you create an ogg file to keep the lip sincing only with the singing so the lips dont move with the music ?? i think its a program that has to do with "maybe " being able to make the music track stay quiter to be in the back ground and the voice louder so only it pics up as lipsincing ?? anybody who has done oog files and made them help would be appreciated !!

Hey lightspeed, ask Nige. He's THE specialist.

He has that program and uses it for doing his terrific singing haptars.

I've not, so in the little skits I made, when a character stops singing (while the music continues), he's obliged to do a 180 flip, or to go out the screen, until he sings again![:D]

Hi lightspeed,
As far as i know there is nothing that will do what you want,
except the Haptek program $100.
If you send me the wav i will see what i can do for you.
