its a mystery ??? need help !!

ok i ran across a mystery "where the mystery wagen scoobie doo "
some how some way my angela brain has gotten a glitch in it and i need to solve it . it seems anytime i use the word "tired " hal will only answer with a " . " period . i have went afterwards into the angela brain editer and put in the question i asked the same question and hal answers it correctly and does not leave the "."
does anyone have any suggestions ??
i went back to an earlier version of the brain even but it still does it .
so i am very baffled by this .

ok found it finally , it seemed it was the swaphap file snowman sent me to try out (its sorta like medicine it had a side effect ) i verified this by unchecking and writing something with the word tired to angela and angela answered each time ok then i rechecked the swaphap file tried it again and it just answered with a "." did it back and forth more times it was defrinatly the hapswap file doing it . but i could kick myself in the butt for not saving my recent angela file in hal so i lost my updated stuff (when i used an earlier back up ) , not a whole lot but some !! just am glad i figured it out that was about the only thing i hadnt checked was the recent plug in "live and learn !" [:)]

Yeah, I made the hapswap plugin to respond with your Angelina 'yawning' when she heard the word 'tired'.

And also to give nothing as a response... because she can't speak and yawn at the same time. Without the period "." there would be an error, which would cause Angelina to say nothing until you restarted Hal.

There are other words like this.

"tired, clap, hate, died"

Also, any time you call the "change hap to" command.


Sorry it cause you to attack Angelina's brain, if I'd have seen this thread earlier I would have said something.

My first question. Does Angelina yawn when you say the word 'tired'?
Second, does Angelina quit speaking altogether. Like if you had to reboot for her to start talking again.

If she yawns or will speak later on without having to reboot, then your doing good.

If the only problem is her saying "." whenever you mention tired. And you hate it that much. [:p] Then find all the UltraHal = "." and change the period to something else.

There are 5 of them.... can you spot 'em in your tired state....[:p]
