The only problem with pursuing these creative and philosophical pursuits is that no one will be willing to pay you to do it.  Is our current educational system even designed to create citizens who are able to compete in this economy of dwindling opportunity?  Without a job that pays them the money to live on the average wage slave is going to become even more destitute and the middle class will eventually disappear leaving only the have's and the have not's.   Soylent Green anyone? (http://www.scifimoviepage.com/upcoming/previews/soylentgreen-remake.html)

By the way, what exactly do Norway and France produce with these man-hours?  Cheese?  Perfume?  I'm pretty sure I've never bought anything from either country that was produced there.

There was a time when the United States was a producing nation but now, besides new and better ways of making war, all we produce is fast food and re-makes of old movies.  We do both of those things badly.  -Sighs-
