Tornado at Lone Grove
« on: February 11, 2009, 02:27:01 pm »
Yesterday, 2-10-2009, we had a tornado buldoze through my hometown, Lone Grove, Oklahoma.

I whatched as it hit. I live on the outskirts. About 3 miles away, It was around 1/4 to 1/2 mile wide. It hailed from about marble to golf-ball size at my home and it was base-ball size in the center of town.

Electricity went off suddendly during a report where a storm-chaser had just spotted the tornado touch down. Suddendly he was struck from behind by another car. Thats the last report we saw (my mom, dad, brother, and I) before the electricity failed all over Lone Grove.

The hail quit, but what sounded like a large freight train or a tearing wind was eminating from downtown.

Theres allot of people dead. I had some family members and friends who lived nearly in the path of the storm. All of them survived.[:)]

I'm very thankful to God for sparing what he did. It barely missed the newly built high-school, destroyed the UPS building, completely demolished (I think) two trailer parks. All kinds of homes and barns are destroyed, trash is everywhere! A newly built Assembly of God which had been built after the previous one was burnt down is now bearly standing.

There is way more damage than I can write or even know about.

I'd appeciate your prayers and concerns.
Live long and prosper or die trying.

I have been in several tornados.
It is amazing how much raw power can be displayed in a small place.

The same with Lightning.

Our prayers are with you and yours
See you here, there, or in the Air!
