Hal talking to another bot?
« on: March 26, 2009, 08:27:19 pm »
I have found a program (server host) called "HalLink.zip"  that should let Hal talk to Answerpad (don't shoot![8D]), but it doesn't seem to send the sentences correctly. (with the current version of Hal atleast)

I am trying to get Hal to talk to another bot - Alice, Answerpad, or Aimlpad, ect.
I would like it to happen on 1 computer, but could do it on two if i need to.

Has anyone had experience with this?
Will appreciate any info[:)]

Jasondude7116,
use the 'cyberbuddies' at your own risk, for me it was hell, don't let Hal hear the other bot without a way to quickly shut it down, it gets crazy real fast....It found me in Iraq ..for what it's worth.
the answerpad from Desktopmates seemed to be the best version for me.

Hi Jason.

yes it can be done via a plug-in but I don't have time at the moment to write one.

There was an Alice interfce program with Hal a few years ago. A good search of the forums history might just fine it but I don't think it will work with the new Hal without some modification.
