Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Like the computer in Star Trek

I'm trying to get the AI to act more like the computer in Star Trek. I want to be able to give it facts on a subject and have it return those facts when asked. As it stand now, Hal keeps wanting to change the conversion, make small talk, etc.

Any help would be great.
