Ancient philosophers debated whether a ship should still be considered the same ship if each one of its wooden planks is replaced with a new one over many years. What if each brain cell in your brain were slowly replaced by computer chips while retaining original functionality? Would you still be the same person? Would the outcome be any different than the alternative in the previous comic strip?
