Ultra Hal 7.0 / Email Checking

Thanks, I have owned a medium enterprise hosting company for about 9 years...I should have clarified that I am aware of what a pop email is, I am trying to find a command or code to edit a brain file that would allow me to request to the program to check my email (on command).  I have seen the options that allow it to check on and off, but what I don't see is to have it check either more often or when I ask it too.  I have tried "Check my email" and every other sentence I can think of.

I would like to have the program check my email and read the subjects or headers or maybe just the senders (whatever works).  Is there a way to program Hal so that I can request that it checks my email account, and then have it do so and read me the info?

Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I am a newbie....
