Thx no worries.  I've been here for a long time, sorry I didn't speak up till now.  I've appreciated both the community here, and your specific contributions.  I forget sometimes i should remember to say thank you

As far as 3dsmax goes, i'm a lil rusty, but i am somewhat familiar with it still.  What is the difference between *.haptar and *.htr other then compression i noticed i can't open *.haptar in import.  I'll look around but i think I forgot how to make haptar in htr again lol.  Was it something to do with haptargh program I got that i just need to remember a whole bunch of stuff i forgot.  Can only fit so much in my head before i forget things like car keys, lol!

I read a lot but, I do miss things occasionally, I try to read any related virtualhuman like forums, anything related to ultrahal, haptek, etc.  I've been messing with this stuff for years myself.  I was so mad when microsoft broke something with whatever api haptek was using (directx, gdi, not sure) in 25H2.  I did last night upgrade again to 23H2 it still works but i'm stopping for now, want to keep my mixed reality compatibility for as long as I can as well. Newer is not always better, in technology a hard lesson for obssesive upgrade people like me lol.


I knew who you are, and I have been following this for some time.  I really am impressed though still, I don't want to start an ask me anything like dialogue, but what would you say was the hardest thing about doing this, was it importing and understanding the haptar htr format, or making it useable again on export?

patch yes.  I've been working on converting one of my earlier projects to this,  I need to organize my editor viewpoint layout again to make this easier.  I assume the root bone just needs to be selected, it doesn't need to be named root lol ;p  Am I allowed to share any wip screenshots or is this on the hush hush for now?

Maybe one day we can get haptar or an opensource model format working for mobile, that could be fun to try too.

Years ago i tried to use guile3d's nextos, in the last few years he restarted it, and I was tickering with it again I think it is still here https://store.denise.ai/.  I still like ultrahal and haptar (rip) better though! 

I'm not a super fan of modern AI like chatgpt, I mean its very useful, but it lacks some of the custom nuance of the older ai brains, and I like having more control and transparency!!! for how it works.

Sorry for the longest time i still even used gmax and a complicated amount of toolbar menus and plugins, and scripts for rigging, so i was used to that omfg that is freaking awesome!

Does it have a poly limit, or it autodownscales (something like that old thing what was it polychop) i'm going to test it rn?

As far as I can tell that is just 3dmax 2023 with maybe? some extra addons.  I last used 3dmax 2010 so i'm not sure if i'm missing the script, or plugin somewhere, or what not, looked mostly standard vanilla to me, let me know if i misunderstood.

BTW, do you still have the single core hapaxplayer either?  I don't really need it too much but I am an archiver of niche things.

longtime lurker, but i have to keep registering cause i guess they think i'm spam lol.  So i just spent all last night reinstalling windows11 this time i'm maxing on version 22H2, cause the latest broke haptek player, all garbled video its really frustrating to me.  I've browsed many a virtual ai forum for quite some time. I periodically collect things i can find that are interesting. I may even have something you need.  I bought people putty back in windows xp, but when i installed it on vista it wouldn't register anymore, so i forsaw this issue so i made a backup vm with windows xp with peopleputty installed, so thats the only way i can make stuff anymore using a vm that makes me nervous as heck that its going to get corrupted one day.  I have really liked using this software for quite sometime.  I haven't really said anything on any of the forums other then guile's i think at some point mainly because i read and answer my own questions.

POC:

so a little known fact, is that microsoft actually still packs internet explorer (the version that accepts activex) even on windows 11 amazingly.   It is just inaccessible to the average user.  I was reading some forums for a solution to this issue and came across a vbs script that can launch internet explorer activex version temporarly.

I'd say use this for compatibility purposes but i'm sure there is some huge security risk involved in this method, don't go browsing bad websites with this or anything even still!  I can view old haptek websites if any are still up, or on archive.org or whatnot with this method.

I'll just post the code so you know its not a virus lol, It's quite simple too!

Only question I ever was unable to answer myself as far as haptek tweaking, is how do you remove the shoes on the full female htr, anyone know?

I love the fact that i was going to post this today anways, but the last weeks updates with windows 11 has broken a lot of things, security upgrade perhaps, but it breaks my thermal control for my laptop, bunch of gpuz kind things, don't even get me started about what HP and they did to those mixedreality headsets, anyway when it broke haptek it was the final straw, I installed the older 22H2 version that i know still works and locked it to never upgrading past that version.  I may have to do more then just using the group policy editor if microsoft gets more aggressive with their upgrade push. Any recommends?
