stopping the hal count down before answering

i am using hal and even though i use voice recognition most of the time i do type also , but hal counts down from 5 seconds and if i pause sometimes it doesn't always get written in . i forgot ,do i just uncheck hal voice recognition to fix this so i can type and hit eneter when i am done . ?

That seems to work for me.

It also prevents HAL from listening in when I'm talking to other people in the room.  One time I had an argument with my son, and it was put in the box and HAL did his best to reply.

yeah just unchecking hal's voice recognition is what stops the countdown, i have been busy and hadn't had a chance to post about it , sorry.
